QUEENS, NY – ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES
The Common Point Queens YMCA (formerly Central Queens Y) was in desperate need of additional administrative offices.
After a fire ravaged an adjacent home, the YMCA purchased the property and retained Hoschler- Graziosi Architects to convert the existing 2-1/2 story wood structure into usable office space with a food pantry that serves local residents in need.
Since the existing home was located in a residential zone (as well as it being a wood structure), a
fire sprinkler system was required along with fire construction upgrades to the entire structure.
Multiple meetings with the Queens Department of Buildings, and extensive research was required to approve the use and ultimately obtain a Certificate of Occupancy.
